2020 200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training

with Julia Canfield and Maria Williquette

Mexico | Portland | Seattle

Part One, Mexico Immersion

February 20 - March 1, 2020 Majauha Palms

We will start with a 10 day immersion in Mexico where we will lay the groundwork for the months to come. There will be tons of self study, learning, ritual, and rhythm to tap into. The retreat space is lovely, simple, and remote. Although we will be spending a lot of time learning, there will be ample time to relax, enjoy the beach, and watch incredible sunsets over the ocean. If you haven’t already, please check it out the resort here.

We will have one evening and one morning free to explore the city and rest.

Please note that you are responsible for airfare and transportation to and from the airport. We will, of course, help with arranging taxi's when we can.

Mentorship

Included in the training is five hours of one on one mentorship with either Julia or Maria. This will be a time for detailed questions, connection, and feedback. We are very excited to offer this and feel like it’s a crucial element to the training. These hours will be scheduled outside of our planned meeting times and can be done in person or Skype / Facetime.

Self Study

Along with our in person meetings you will be required to attend yoga classes on your own, develop a mysore practice (home practice), and complete a research project (we anticipate about 10 hours total for this project. It is not huge.). There will be required readings and homework, but don’t worry - it will be fun.

Additional Teachers

Chiara Guerrieri

Anatomy and Physiology

Chiara practices and teaches yoga as a way to work with the perception that body and mind are separate. She teaches how to connect the breath with the body, how to track physical sensation moment to moment and how to find an internal wisdom that guides movement and choices for well-being. She has been teaching yoga since 1996 and practicing massage therapy since 1983.

Chiara has studied a wide-range of bodymind disciplines – NonViolent Communication, SoMat, Meditation, Hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programing and Massage – mastering the material deeply enough to provide instruction in each of these areas. Teaching itself is one of her greatest joys. A long-time mover and shaker, Chiara's passion for movement forms has enriched her life with dance, yoga and daily walks in nature. She loves gardening, foreign travel, everything that smells good, warm-oil foot massages, flowers on the table and foods that both tastes and feels good in the body.

Currently, Chiara teaches weekly classes and frequent workshops, as well as Anatomy, Physiology and Communication for 200- and 500 hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. She has added NonViolent Communication to many of her recent yoga-related offerings and is excited to be introducing the SoMat – both the tool and the technique – to the Seattle area. Chiara also hosts retreats in several mind/body modalities in inspiring locations around the world.
